So I don’t forget, here are the restaurants reviewed on tonight’s episode and the panel’s recommendation:
Eleven City Diner: South Loop Jewish deli recommended by sheltered funeral director…panel thought it was a yuppy Manny’s. Maybe worth checking out for breakfast, but you can’t really beat Manny’s. It’s also in the South Loop, which is, eh, bustling.
Atwood Cafe: Loop contemporary American…panel thought it was nice to look at but food seemed like an afterthought. You’re paying for the overhead. Pre-theater for tourists.
Cafe Hoang: Chinatown Vietnamese, recommended by whiny Jew real estate developer who says it’s better than Argyle…panel thought it was fresh and cheap and quality and didn’t know there was a Chinatown in Chicago. Looks like great pho, and it’s BYOB. I appreciate the recommendation since it’s hard to know where to go in Chinatown.
